This Sunday, September 3, Jean-Jacques and Dominique welcomed a new association, the “Groupement de Conservation du Patrimoine Militaire Berry” (GCPM Berry).
This association, in full reorganization, has about fifteen members in the departments of Cher and Indre and devotes its activities to preserving memories of WWII.
Organized by members from Déols, this weekend was devoted to the discovery of several significant places of Châteauroux Métropole, with for example, a stop by pavilions street in front of the plaque recalling the action of Georges Bégué (first agent of the SOE -Special Operation executive- to be parachuted into France on the night of May 5 to 6, 1941 and who sent to London, on May 9, the first encrypted message from France) or by “la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire”, and the numerous stelae around Diors.
