For one week, from Monday, September 21, to Sunday, September 27, 2026, “Les Amis de La Martinerie" are exhibiting duplicate panels of the display currently featured in the “Salle des Casernes” (Barracks Hall) at the Departmental Military Memory Center. This initiative is being held in partnership with the Centre-Val de Loire Regional Council, Caisse d’Epargne Loire-Centre, the Indre chapter of the Society of Members of the Legion of Honour, and ONaCVG 36.
The goal is to allow the facility's residents, four of whom are association members and/or have donated memorabilia, as well as visitors and local schoolchildren, to discover or rediscover a past, whether recent or distant, that some of them experienced firsthand.
Rémi, one of our volunteers, was on hand for an afternoon to answer residents' questions.
This is the 11th facility in the Indre department to host this exhibition.
As the facility has its own transport, the activities coordinator will be scheduling museum visits for the residents, many of whom worked at the La Martinerie site.
