Ensuring that the flags and pennants of the association are always present during patriotic events, and thus honoring veterans who are now deceased, is one of the missions of “Les Amis de La Martinerie”.
Constance (10 years old), a member of the association, is a tangible proof of this.
Whenever she is available, she will carry the pennant representing those who, as resistance fighters, fought the occupier in the Indre department and then joined the 5th Battalion of Chasseurs à Pied (integrated into the 2nd DB) to recapture the Colmar pocket, and then, with the 1st and 17th BCP (integrated into the 4th Demi-Brigade of Chasseurs à Pied), recaptured the Saint-Nazaire pocket.
