As part of the "academic triad" (National Education – Army – IHEDN Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defense), future teachers from the INSPE (National Higher Institute of Teaching and Education) of the Indre department met for the third consecutive year at “les Amis de La Martinerie”, within “la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire” (The departmental house of military memory).
La Martinerie is the ideal location to meet the triad's objectives, which are to "design activities that contribute to the development of Defense culture" and to present the opportunities offered by “les Amis de La Martinerie” to teachers in their history teaching.
Teaching Defense to teachers is part of the programs, as explained by David CATEL, Director of INSPE, and Jean-Louis LAUBRY, history professor and mentor of these future teachers.
After the presentation of the trio by Paulette PICARD, president of the Indre committee of the IHEDN, then a masterful presentation by Lt-Colonel Frédéric DRAPEAU, Departmental Military Delegate (DMD) on "A European army - Issues and perspectives", the future teachers were divided into three groups to participate in three rotating workshops:
The first session was led by Lt. Colonel Frédéric DRAPEAU, DMD, to remind everyone that the spirit of defense is not just a military concern.
The second session was led by Laurent BRONSARD, Principal of the Buzançais and Ecueillé Middle Schools, to discuss the values of the Republic and citizenship education with the future teachers.
The third session was led by Bruno TAILLANDIER, IHEDN (National Institute of Education and Training) and Mayor of Luçay-le-Mâle, on the definition of the word "resilience."
The morning was rounded off with a visit to “la maison départementale de la mémoire militaire”, accompanied by Dominique ROOSENS, a volunteer with “les Amis de La Martinerie”, Jean-Louis LAUBRY, a teacher, and Jean-Jacques BERENGUIER, president of the association.
Before the visit, Maxans LELIEVRE, a civic service student and alumnus of the previous year, presented his mission within the association. With everyone, and for the third time in this organization, the feeling of another successful morning!
