“Les Amis de La Martinerie” had the pleasure of hosting the annual meeting of the Châteauroux committee of the SMLH 36 (Society of Members of the Legion of Honor of the Indre department), in the presence of General (ret.) Guy Patureau Mirand, departmental president, General (ret.) Jean-Charles Bourrier, his predecessor, and Jean-François Mémin, deputy mayor representing Gil Averous, President of Châteauroux Métropole.
After reviewing the committee's activities during 2025, President Jean-Jacques Gasset highlighted the partnership between the SMLH 36 and “Les Amis de La Martinerie” for the implementation of the exhibition on the military barracks of the Indre department in senior residences throughout the region. He also discussed the initiative entitled "Honor in Action," encouraging the members present to become involved in this mission.
The meeting concluded with a friendly drink, followed by a quick visit to “La Maison départementale de la mémoire militaire” (The Departmental House of Military Remembrance) for some of the attendees.
It should be noted that one in three participants at this annual meeting is also a member of “Les Amis de La Martinerie”.
